Raw material – scene one (Kamil walking out the office building)
Equipment problems and restrictions – No charging port nearby, so will have to take extra batteries in case the camera is not fully charged before filming. As we are using the small cameras we are also restricted to how much we can film in one go and how long for. If it rains on the date we want to film then there are restrictions as the equipment is not water proof so we will need to record indoors.
Actually time taken - ten minutes to film scene one, from Kamil walking at the office building, down the path and towards the gate. This should take 4 different angle shots.
Risks in area – We plan to film around four thirty pm meaning that there will be lots of traffic and people walking around, so we will have to use signs or wait for people to walk past before filming as we will not have their permission for them to be in our music video. The raw material shows that it might take longer to film because we have no control over the weather, people and cars. However if we use signs then people should see them and wait or cross the road before we start filming.
More so, it only took 10 minutes to film the first scene so we will not be in the way for long. But there are still some risks as Kamil has to cross the road, and me and Kirsty on a small path with the recording equipment where cars sometimes park, so we will have to be careful, pay attention and look before crossing the road.
Review footage – Kirsty filmed three shots of scene one and I filmed one shot from different angles and at different distances away to see which one we liked and would use as a really shot in the music video. I personally like shot two because it was across the road and looked like the follower was watching Kamil from a distance, but not too close to be noticed. This is different to what we have on the storyboard as we had planned to use an eye level and long shot of Kamil walking towards the camera with people behind him.
Looking at the footage I have noticed that we will have to complete scene one and half of scene two on the same evening because if we do not then it will cause continuity because the cars parked on one evening may be moved or different to another day. I also feel we should change some of the shots so it always looks like that Kamil is being watched, this means filming through the bushes as he walks past and out the college campus.
Roles – Kamil acted, Kirsty mainly film and Georgia directed and filmed. Kamil was best at acting so he will be staying as the main actor. Kirsty was better at filming as she knew when to start and stop filming; she also knows how to work the camera better than myself. I work well as the director as I can think quickly if for some reason we are unable to film that scene or an actor cannot come to film, I can also see if an angle or a position is going to work well or needs to be changed.
